DameL is a Learning Management System based on the Moodle platform which is designed and built to support the distance learning process at the Program Studi Pendidikan Jarak Jauh (PJJ) at IAIN Sheikh Nurjati Cirebon which will transform into the Universitas Islam Siber Syekhnurjati Indonesia (UISSI) / Cyber Islamic University. 'DameL' stands for 'Daring melalui e-Learning', which means online learning based on e-learning. The word 'DameL' is taken from the Javanese vocabulary which means 'Kerja' / 'Work', it is hoped that all users can be motivated to always work hard in studying without distance, territorial limits, economic restrictions, and social status.
Some of the benefits that can be obtained from using this system are as follows: 1) As an effective system in facilitating the implementation of distance learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic; 2) Can create online classes to present a variety of digital learning materials, in the form of learning videos or animations, lecturer voice recordings regarding learning materials, and learning material documents (articles or electronic books) for students to study independently; 3) Creating a discussion space to support the learning development of students. Through the discussion room feature, lecturers can conduct more in-depth discussion sessions about the subject matter that has been studied by students; 4) Provide online quiz and exam features so that lecturers can evaluate learning for their students. This feature supports the needs of lecturers in making questions to distributing exam questions to students; 5) Report features are provided that can make it easier for lecturers to track the progress of their students. This feature is also useful for checking student attendance, the intensity of students accessing learning materials, monitoring student assignments, and recaping answers to quizzes and student exams; 6) As a system that facilitates the implementation of 'Merdeka Belajar'/ 'Freedom of Learning' during the pandemic. And there are many other advantages.
